Dell Touchpad Not Scrolling

Posted : admin On 09.09.2019

Hi RaeedAhmed,Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community!I understand that you could not perform vertical scroll using the touch pad. Some computers have a touchpad disable and enable hot key, refer to Dell Knowledge Base articleto see if your computer has this hot key and how to use it.(When your computer does not have the hot key or the hot key did not correct the issue proceed to the next step.)2. Turn off the computer (when the touchpad does not respond hold the power button down for up to 15 seconds to turn off the computer).3. Unplug everything except the power cord, including the following:.

Speakers. Printers. Scanners.

USB devices. Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs). USB flash drive or other external storage devices.

Scrolling

Jan 15, 2017  This questions need much more data. First, which OS and drivers are you using, is it the Software the Laptop came from, second did you had external devices connected, if so are those drivers still on there. Did you check your dedicated drivers set.

External Monitor. Skype sign up. External Keyboard. External Mouse. If your computer is attached to a docking station, undock it4.

Windows 10 Touchpad Gestures Not Working

Make sure the touchpad or your finger has no dirt, grease, liquids or food on it (the touchpad has to make a good contact with your finger to work correctly).5. Turn the computer back on and retest the touchpad. When the touchpad still does not work correctly proceed to step 6. When the touchpad does work correctly, attach one external device at a time and test the touchpad to see which one may have caused the issue.6. Make sure the latest driver for the touchpad is installed (you may need to use a external USB or Bluetooth mouse), for more information refer to:7.

Some newer computers have added gesture features to the touchpad hardware and drivers.A few of these features are two or three finger scrolling, pinch zoom, circle zoom, rotateand swiping. These new features may be the reason for the erratic cursor movement since most are turned on by default. You can disable or modify the way the features work in the touchpad driver properties.

Open Start Screen. Type Control Panel. Using the drop-down menu next to View by: in the upper-right corner, selectLarge Icons. Click Mouse. Click the Dell Touchpad or Device Settings tab.a) When the Dell Touchpad tab option showed.1.

Click on the picture of the touchpad.2. Click Gestures Settings (depending on your computer there may not be a gestures option).3. After changing the options clickOK.b) When the Device Settings tab option showed.1.

Click the next to open the options you want to change.2. After changing the options clickOKIf still persists, please to contact Dell Technical support, please follow the link to contact technical support.?I also suggest you to refer the link given belowMouse, touchpad, and keyboard problems in WindowsHope the information provided was helpful, if you need any assistance feel free to post we are here to assist you.

Dell Laptop Scroll Not Working

I´m running Win10 Pro and everything was fine until the latest Windows update. The touchpad stopped working abruptly.I´ve tried to uninstall and reinstall the latest driver and nothing.Going to definitions mouse/touchpad, in mouse everything's ok but for the touchpad I just have the sensitivity option, no on/off mode, nothing.Got to device manager mouse and pointing devices Dell touchpad tried to uninstall/reinstall driver and everything seems ok, but it still does't work.Don't know what else to do, I'm thinking to reverse it back to factory settings and to Win7. Hi, which was the last update? This is different for different people. What is your Windows build?Windows key + R, winverMy experience- and that of some others- is a bit different, but may point to a way forward. (and note I have build 1703 as you can see from my specs).I realised that one finger scrolling and chiral (circular) scrolling no longer worked.

Dell Touchpad Two Finger Scroll

Two finger did. As others have found I had to use an OLDER driver (v19 is latest for Synaptics) - I'm now using v16 which I managed to find- and all features work again. First of all thanks to Dalchina for his advices. It was just a driver 'bug' I installed the Alps 10.1207.101.109 version and the touchpad is working perfectly now. This site here has very usefull info but just for Dell owners I'm afraid. I have five Dell Lattitude E6410's here all with a sticky touchpad. Sometimes works, sometimes sticks for a few seconds. Been going on for some time now, so its not a recent update type problem.Just done a big update to version 1803 and the problem remains, so tried running the Alps 10.1207.101.109 file from the site you quote, but it refuses to install.

I just double clicked the exe file. The driver install said successful, but when I closed that, a Dell box then came up saying it was unsuccessful. Have I missed a trick here?I. You might try installing in compatibility mode; Defender Controlled Folder access may be playing a role here (various problems reported with Defender in 1803).Also try installing as admin (rt click run as admin).Just ideas - feel free to post the exact error messages. And what driver version is now shown in Device Manager?Tried all that, with the same result. The compatibility mode was for Windows 8, and I r clicked and ran as administrator as you suggested.

Device manager shows 8.1206.101.112Keith.
