1. Rome Total War Windowed Mode

Hum, got my game today. Never seen anyone use a gamepackaging system like this before. All the game data is on a diskimage in the app folder? That's write protected so you can't change any settings at all?:S Much less use mods. Yikes.Edit:Well, tinkering with it shows that you can use mods.I made a copy of the diskimage with the datafiles on it, one which was read/write enabled. Then I applied the together with the manually, after having unpacked the.exe installers with The Unarchiver.After that I found that there is a macspecific change you need to take note of, movie files are in the.mov format as opposed to the Windows version's.wmv format, so any file you use to mod with that points to a movie file will need to be altered slightly. So far I found a file that needs to be altered to be the 'descrsmfactions.txt'-file in the root of the data folders (both base game and BI expansion).

A search and replace sorted it for me. There might be more similar issues that come up later of course, but so far so good.Edit2: And now it's not working anymore.

/sigh After quitting Rome and restarting it I suddenly can't start a new campaign anymore. Nothing happens after pressing the start button after choosing faction. Weird.Edit3!: Removing the 'Library/Preferences/Feral Interactive/Rome Total War' folder sorted it for now.

I'm pretty sure in properties thereis a 'run in windowed mode' tickboxif not the this may work:. Find the shortcut for the rome version you want to play in windowed mode instead of full screen. Right click on the shortcut, select Properties. In the Target field add: -window at the end.
